After three weeks on the road and staying in hotels we are invited to stay in a home. The house of Kay Oberly and her husband,
Haynes Johnson. Kay is Bill's counsin. A beautiful D.C. mansion where we stayed for 6 days! Lucky, lucky us!

Baltimore used a lot of brick in its archetectue. This is a fairly new apartment building. Brick.

Our gracious hosts in Washington, D.C., cousin Kay Oberly and Haynes Johnson. Picture is taken in their backyard. See pictures
below for more treasures in their backyard.

This is the rather large brick building that houses, ESPN Zone on the right, Barnes & Noble in the middle and Hard Rock
Cafe on the right. We only went in Barns & Noble.
|

Family photo. All named Oberly. Kay is the daughter of Grandpa Bill Oberly's brother.

Baltimore was our portal to sporting events. Our first was a S.F. Giants vs. Washington Nationals game at RFK Stadium in
D.C.
|

The other treasure in Kay and Haynes' backyard. The temperature when we arrived was in the 80s. The temperature in the pool
was in the 70s. Now it doesn't get any better.

The night after the Giants game we went to Camden Yards in Baltimore to watch the Boston Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles.

Our seats were not quite as good as at the Giants game. In fact, the usher said, "Hum, row LL, that's three rows...from
the top." Good thing we brought binoculars.

Even thought the Red Sox won an exciting game with Manny hitting in four runs, Dillon turned his attention to befriending
neighbors in the stands.
|

The Oberly boys had a great time in the pool, including swan dives off of Dad.

Our next sports stop was Dover, Delaware for the Dover 400, the NASCAR race in Delaware. The most amazing thing about this
event was the number of people there. Somewhere between 150,000 and 200,000 people.

And the winner of the race at Dover's Monster Mile was Jimmy Johnson, pictured here going about 180 mph on the back stretch
in front of our seats. Kudos to Vicky for being able to take a picture of a car going that fast.

Our soldiers were always ready, even if aheld of their supply lines. With soldiers like these no wonder we beat the British
at Fort McHenry.
